So How Did It Go?
As musicians, one thing each of us wanted to do was go on tour. It didn’t matter whether it was for weeks at a time or just a few days, just as long as we were on the road. This past week let us live that dream, and damn, it was sweet.
We planned a three night musical extravaganza with Kansas City, MO locals Auternus. The first night was on Auternus’ territory: The Record Bar. It’s well known for being the go-to spot for amazing shows, so naturally we were ecstatic to take the stage. We played our hearts out and were blindsided at how well received we were.
The second night took us to Warrensburg, MO, a smallish college town outside of Kansas City. Being a smaller venue where neither Auternus nor us have ever performed we didn’t know what to expect, even after our success the night before. Even with all of our insecurities after our set we were mobbed by new found fans. It was a great and truly unique experience.
Not only was this our first tour, but the final night also gave us our first headlining gig at The Sydney back in our home base: Omaha. Auternus played an awesome opening set followed by our friends and Lincoln musical wizards Masses. We played as hard as ever receiving glowing reviews from everyone, even those who have seen us time and time again.
We’re addicted. We crave touring like zombies crave brains.
We’ve been working hard here in Omaha, now it’s time for us to get out and share our music with the rest of the world.
